I’ve never been one of those overly productive people, but I have always had a productive life. Work, friends, going out for diner and drinks, museums, movies…you know, life. Now week two of self-quarantine has consisted of confirming (because “pending” isn’t reassuring) that I now have unemployment, SNAP benefits (which I learned is food stamps), Medicaid and some level of sanity and hope for the future.
On top of that, after reaching out to our property management company where we live about paying rent after being shut down by the governor in a global health crisis, we were told that they would waive any late fees (WOW, thank you for not be complete douchebags) and allow us to make payments throughout the month. When I asked how long we had to pay this off they said, the end of the month. Thank you for allowing us to make payments with the money we don’t have. Corporate gluttony at its best.
Now time to check the kitchen to make sure we have enough food and toilet paper for the next…honestly, I have no idea. It’s very hard to prepare when you don’t know what you are preparing for. But based on that I think I’m good for now lol.
F**k I’m getting another glass of wine…
Ok, on the plus side, through social media and texting I’ve been more in contact with a lot people that I’ve missed. I’m making the effort to reach out which is something we all need to remember to do. I’ve also realized that there was a handful of people I needed to delete on social media for my political sanity. If nothing else my FB feed will be much healthier after the quarantine.
So now I’m going to make a corn dog* and walk around my apartment with a glass of wine like I’m at the county fair because…well…why not 😊!
Side note: *The corn dogs were meant for quarantine food, but we ate them quick and they are gone.
PSA: Stay safe, stay home, wash your hands and don’t eat all your f**king quarantine reserve corn dogs in a week!
