Soooooo I’m not much of a bowler but when the newly renovated Bowling Stadium in Reno opened their doors the public for their grand (re)opening I had to go. First, I wanted to go into a place that had never been opened to the general public before and second to impress my dad by going to the stadium where they filmed the movie Kingpin (yes there are some very impressive perks to living in Reno 😊).
I have to say I was impressed. They took out all the stadium seating and made everything lighter, brighter and more open. That’s all cool, but to see a 78 lane bowling alley up close and personal, that was seriously a big wow factor.
The Stadium isn’t open to the public yet, but according to the Bowling Association person we were talking to in the elevator, it will be soon!
There is also a great bar downstairs called the Kingpin Club. It has its own bowling lanes, food and a full bar that is opened to the public on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
“The world can really kick you in the ass. I only have a vague recollection of when it wasn’t kickin’ mine.” – Roy Munson (Kingpin)
I feel ya Roy. Let’s go bowling! 😊
