Do I love to eat great food? YES. Do I love drinking great wine (and beer)? YES. Do I love supporting local? Ummm isn’t this why we are here? 😊
This all adds up to Sample the Sierra. Let me start out by saying I hate writing about this event because I don’t want more people to find out about it lol. This annual event takes place in South Lake Tahoe at Bijou park in September. Walking through the park, sampling delicious local food, beer and wine, listening to a variety of live music and checking out local vendors is my perfect afternoon.
It spotlights the great culinary talent in the sierras and pairs it with local beers and wines bringing attention to wineries and breweries throughout this region. It’s also laid out so that food and wine pairings are on one side and food and beer parings are on the other but it’s a quick walk through the middle to cross over to enjoy it all. Stay till the end and you can watch the Chopped Chef competition and see who’s got the “chops” win it all!
Side note: My “I hate wine and cheese events” (non foodie) boyfriend loooooves this event 🙂
