Kwock’s is…just so damn good!

As I said in my “about me”, I’m from the bay area. With that came great exposure to fantastic and authentic Asian food. Since moving to Reno, this is something I have greatly missed. I have found a couple of places up here that are good but not great. Kwock’s is beyond great! Oh my god, this is what I have been longing for since I moved here (If anyone can find me a (good) Dim Sum place I would be in food heaven!). Kwock’s is fresh, flavorful and traditional. The price is a little higher than most Chinese restaurants but it’s worth every penny.

We had the Calamari, it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I loved that it was a smaller portion, it was actually an appetizer and not a meal (leaving more room to eat more food! ). I am looking forward to ordering it every time I go. We also got the seafood stew. We ordered the “seafood clay pot” and after some discussion about other items with our server, he repeated our order and said “seafood stew” (we all heard him and agreed lol). Thank you to our server, this was a great mistake! This was an amazing dish with sautéed calamari, shrimp, and scallops cooked perfectly in a light sauce allowing you to enjoy the flavor of the seafood. Going to try the seafood clay pot next time .

We also had the Szechwan Lamb. Once again I will say it was cooked perfect and the flavor was amazing. I won’t go on and on again saying the same thing about all that we had. I will say I’m excited to go back and try EVERYTHING on the menu.

The place is small with outdoor seating. My friends were skeptical when we walked in asking “Soooooo, how did you hear about this place?” (looking around, worried looks on faces). Everyone left excited and talking about all the things they wanted try the next time.

From a bay area girl that was looking for some of the food I used to take for granted, thank you Kwock’s. Thank you.

Side note: Andrew Zimmern came here for the “Zimmern List”. So it’s official, I have good taste and now we all need to try the duck!
