AKA: HAN VC đŸ™‚
I grew up surounded with friends that worked on cars and I developed a real appreciation for the trade. Seeing classic cars was always an added bonus. The attention to detail and the old school beauty (inside and out) had me at hello.
I used to love HAN in Reno, until the crowds became excessive and the gang violence pushed me away. This was many years ago (the gang violence has been dealt with) but I have since found a new way to enjoy HAN.
Virginia City HAN is everything I want and more! There are no crazy crowds and you get to see amazing clasic cars against the best old school background you can find. It’s also another a great reason to get out to Virginia City.
History is what Virginia City is about and it makes the perfect backdrop for the HAN kick off weekend. The main street is shut down and you get to walk up and down partaking in the history of the cars and the town. You get to talk to the people that own the cars. Many even have photo albums of the restoration process to look at. It’s not too crowded and they do the car parades as well.
It’s usually the first weekend in August and then the cars drive off to Reno that Sunday afternoon.
While in VC you can also partake in a ghost tour, a ride on the V&T Railway or tour the Way It Was Museum. All to be discussed in future blogs!
