When I think of the 4th of July, I think American pride. With that also comes small town parades, hot dogs, flags, fireworks and baseball. Why baseball? Besides being America’s pastime, it’s truly the best 4th of July experience in Reno.
The Reno Ace’s at Greater Nevada Field do it right. Yes it’s minor league, but I love it! A ballgame, post game concert and AMAZING fireworks. The tickets to the game include all of that starting at $12, a bargain if you ask me. I don’t have many traditions in my life, and this has quickly become one after moving here. I have a friend from home that comes up every year for this with her kid. It’s our tradition. It’s having fun watching a game of up and comming ballplayers, taking pride in our country and listening to patriotic songs during the fireworks. It’s knowing that even though people do not see eye to eye in this political climate, we can all for one brief moment look up and feel as one. God bless America.
And then you get to see a concert.
What more could you ask for! One of the things I love about the post concert is it’s always up and coming artist. It’s a small venue and you get to have a unique experience seeing someone playing their heart out. It’s a day filled with American dreams if you ask me.

Side note: While we all celebrate with bbq’s , parades, ballgames and concerts, it is important to take a moment to remember the people that are still fighting, who have lost their lives or quality of life, and their loved ones. It’s because of these people we are able to celebrate today.
